WHAT'S ON

Harp And A Monkey Live At The Queens Head

Harp and a Monkey return on the back of a four star Guardian review for their new album.

With a range of material and instrumentation described as ‘bold and brilliant’ by The Observer, the self-styled Electro-Folk storytellers bring something different to the world of English Folk. With material ranging from medieval pilgrims to a lone English oak tree growing in Gallipoli and care in the community their eclecticism is only matched by their instrumentation of electro programming supporting guitar, banjo, viola, glockenspiel, harp, accordion and keyboards.

No wonder their 2014 album bore the title ‘All Life is Here’. Now with their new album ‘War Stories’ sending shock currents through the world of English Folk and as dynamic in the club or festival setting as they are in The Royal Exchange, Manchester, their glorious eclectic mix returns to Belper.

Queens Head, Top bar, Belper. September 24th. Admission £7. Doors at 8.00pm.
