Amber Valley Against Fracking – Petition

Back in December we told you about fracking coming to Amber Valley (original article) and in May reported on Amber Valley Against Fracking protesting.

The situation has not been resolved and with Brexit bringing an eventual end to EU environmental protections and several of the new cabinet (including Conservative Chairman and Derbyshire Dales MP Patrick McLoughlin) having voted against environmental regulation of fracking, it is important to stop the extremely dangerous practice of fracking from coming here.

There are two things that you can do to help right now.  One is to join the Amber Valley Against Fracking group and help to protest.  The other is to sign the petition to Nigel Mills to cancel the exploratory licences that have already been granted.

There is an anti-fracking protest on the 30th July in York.  If enough people are interested then Derby Climate Coalition is looking to book a coach through Unite to pick up from the Alfreton/Belper area.  Please get it touch with AVAF through the Facebook group if you would like to attend.
