Matlock Mugging: Police Appeal for Witnesses

Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed in Matlock.

At 10am on Monday 1st February, a woman was behind the Oxfam shop on Dale Road when she was approached by a man.  The man grabbed the woman’s handbag and pushed her to the floor. The woman let go of the bag and the man ran off in the direction of Matlock Bath, under the railway bridge.

The man was described as white, 6ft tall with a pockmarked face. He was wearing a dark grey ski jacket with the hood worn up and a grey beanie style hat worn underneath with a scarf across his face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Simon Rogers on 101 quoting crime number 4721/16 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
